Funky Dragon Documentary on TV

Posted:13/08/2010

The Community Channel recently broadcast "Our Rights Our Story", a documentary made by Funky Dragon, the home of the Children and Young Peoples’ Assembly for Wales.

The documentary follows a steering group of young people as they wrote and delivered a report to the United Nations on how children and young people are claiming their rights in Wales – with young people guiding the process from start to finish. The documentary was shown on the 5th and the 7th August on the Community Channel, which broadcasts shows on Sky 539, Virgin TV 233 and Freeview 87.

Funky Dragon consulted with over 12,000 young people aged 11-18 in Wales and over 2,000 children aged 7-10 in Wales to make sure that the reports are full of correct information. The report was been hailed as a success and a brilliant insight on the issues covered - education, participation, information, health and specific interest. The report was taken to Geneva by the steering group and delivered to the United Nations personally.
