Eisteddfod consultation: ‘Being Part of Life in Wales’

Posted:01/09/2010

As part of the activities run by Children in Wales and its partners the Participation Workers’ Network for Wales worked with Youth Friendly on Friday 6th August to film the opinions of children and young people about living in Wales.

Youth Friendly consulted their Youth Advisory group beforehand on themes for the day which they put under the banner of ‘Being Part of Life in Wales’.

Children and young people at the Eisteddfod gave their views about the best and worst parts of living in Wales and ways it can be improved.  They also talked about what they and other young people can do to improve their areas.  Popular topics included the Welsh language and identity, litter and the environment

Youth Friendly filmed the day and has developed a short video of the young people giving their opinions on these issues.  The video can be viewed below.

Youth Friendly (www.youthfriendly.co.uk) work with children and young peoples’ organisations to develop documents, resources and media suitable for the young people that they work with.
