Local Participation Strategies Guidance
Posted:30/07/2012
Summary of Responses: Through a consultation, people from across Wales told the Welsh Government what they thought about the proposed statutory guidance for local authorities and how they should include children and young people in decisions that affect them. A Summary of the Responses received and how the Welsh Government is responding to them will be published on the Welsh Government web-site shortly.
Guidance: You will be aware that the Children and Families (Wales) Measure has put children and young people’s participation on a statutory footing and we are eager to issue guidance to Local Authorities and relevant partners. However, there have been many changes in Partnership arrangements reflected at Local Authority level and therefore we are currently amending the guidance to make it relevant and within the context of ‘Shared Purpose Shared Delivery’, the recently released guidance on single integrated plans. It is an important document and will make sure that children and young people have a voice, and can play an active role in local authority decisions.
