Funky Dragon Deliver ‘Active Citizenship’ Training
Posted:13/01/2012
The European Social Fund (ESF) is offering a tender opportunity for the delivery of the Funky Dragon ‘Active Citizenship’ Training (Agored Cymru Accredited). ESF provide funding for the Reach the Heights Government initiative which aims to reduce the number of young people in Wales aged 11-19 years who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or who at risk of becoming NEET’s in the future.
The tender aims to deliver the Funky Dragon Active Citizenship training programme to a group of 20 to 25 NEET young people between the age of 16 and 18 living in one of the 15 Convergence local authorities. A range of workshops themed around ‘active citizenship’ which include sessions on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, teamwork and communication and equality and diversity.
Funky Dragon intend to engage organisations working directly with NEET young people to train their practitioners to deliver the ‘Active Citizenship’ programme, enabling them to pass this knowledge onto the young people, from Convergence Local Authorities, in Wales that they work with directly. Funky Dragon intend for a member of its staff to be assigned to each successful organisation as a main point of contact and support.
Up to £4500 is available per contract, with an additional maximum of £1500 available to cover eligible costs such as venue hire. Full specification requirements and information on how to apply can be found by clicking here.
Interested parties are invited to attend an open day at either the Wrexham or Swansea Funky Dragon office on Monday 6th of February 2012 between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. There is no obligation to attend, however it will give you an opportunity to ask questions and find out more.
The closing date for applications is Monday 20th February 2012. Decisions will be made by 5pm March 2nd 2012.
