Participation Unit - Invitation to Tender- Impact Assessment Pilots

Posted:27/07/2012

Under the Participation Unit’s theme of inclusion and participation, we identified the need to support the participation of young people who are the most vulnerable in society. Working in partnership with the Standards sub-group of the Children and Young People’s Participation Consortium for Wales, we have developed an opportunity for young people to pilot the materials developed around Impact Assessment.

The young people will review the toolkit and training with the aim of refining the materials and ensuring they are fit for purpose. The materials they finalise will be used to support organisations to carry out an impact assessment and make the case for embedding and empowering children and young people to have a voice in matters that affect their lives

This project is an opportunity for young people who are at risk of becoming NEET to take part in something positive, develop self confidence and self esteem, learn about the way in which they engage with others and have their voices heard in the development of resources to measure the impact of young people’s participation on decisions that affect their lives.

We will be contracting an organisation or a partnership of organisations to deliver the Impact Assessment Piloting Project with 60 young people aged 14-18 who are at risk of not being in education, employment or training (NEET) in the future.

This work is funded by the ESF Convergence Fund as part of the Reach the Heights project and the contract will be awarded through a process of competitive procurement. We have therefore prepared the attached specification, which lays out our expectations and requirements for the work. If you wish to bid for the work you will need to complete the attached Participation Questionnaire and finance spreadsheet.

Any organisations that apply for this piece of work need to be registered with the sell2wales website. For further information on the Participation Unit and our work you may wish to visit the Participation Workers Wales website.
