Participation Hub launch
Posted:31/07/2012
The Participation Hub has been designed as a simple, fun and attractive space for children and young people to drop into and find the support they are looking for. Once found a single click will link them to the relevant service or resource in Wales. Although aimed at children and young people it is also suitable for practitioners and professionals.
The Hub has been funded by the Welsh Government, and developed with the Participation Workers Network in Wales, in Children in Wales, who will maintain and update the materials.
Many of the materials on the Participation Hub are as a result of the Welsh Government adopting the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and in doing so making a commitment to ensure that all children and young people in Wales have access to their rights.
This included Article 12, that children and young people should be able to have a say in any decision making that affects them. Since then a huge amount has been achieved by organisations including the Participation Unit in Save the Children, the Welsh Government, Funky Dragon and the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. The Hub highlights services, resources and training from these organisations and a wide range of others. Notes
